So I was re-watching Alex's scenes in "Putting Down Roots" (the one where she found out Haley was pregnant) and remembered that due to a glitch I did not have a high definition copy on my DVR, but couldn't remember if ABC had re-aired it yet (short story - they have not - it will probably be the next repeat).
So I went on to their press site to check, and in doing so found something weird - a release for the episode to air a week from Wednesday (the 20th) with a different title than "Can't Elope" (the original episode to be aired that night). At first I thought it was a name change, but when I looked at the release it turns out to be an entirely different episode, with a lead story which, well, take a look:
"Dylan
and Luke are really impressed with Bill’s tales of heroism and
survival as a firefighter, which make Phil feel emasculated. To impress
the guys, he invites them over for a little male-bonding moment that
goes terribly wrong..."
Well that leaves one massive question - would they really do an episode with Bill on the show, but not Alex???
Now if the episode's title has any relation to this story then we probably have nothing to worry about - you'd think it would at least imply at some point that Alex would stand by her man. But, there is zero guarantee that the story would have such a relation (there's no mention of the other stories to happen in this one so I have no clue). So, yes I am worried we could see Bill in an Alex-less episode1, at least a little.
And, to some degree, if it happens once, could it happen again with the for now in limbo "Can't Elope"? And, no, I have no idea when that episode will air now (I'm guessing a repeat or two or three after next Wednesday).

1This has happened at least once, very early on, with Haley and Dylan ("Come Fly With Me" - Dylan came by the house early on looking for Haley but she stayed in her room texting and we never saw her). So there is precedent.
