"The Pen's In My Hand, Ending (No Longer) Unplanned"

Remember back in January we wondered how the show would treat Alex's 21st birthday, only to have her not even so much as show up?  Well, we might at least get a tiny glimpse into what happened in the season finale, which we also now know will be a little early this year (May 8th):

'"Modern Family" (9:00-9:31 p.m.) - "A Year of Birthdays" - As the birth of Haley and Dylan's twins approaches we take a look back at how each family member celebrated their birthdays this past year.'

Since we'll have to 12 (or 13) of these I doubt we'll see much of what happened to Alex on her big day, but at least it's something.

Speaking of big days, this probably means if they're going to do anything with Alex's graduation, it will have to air on the penultimate episode, probably on May 1st.  I'm not particularly optimistic about that happening (if anything, I feel like that episode is more likely to be Alex-less).
