"I'm Like A Bird. I'll Only Fly Away" (First Impressions - "Spread Your Wings" - Season 7, Episode 11)

Sigh.  Another press release, another expectation diminished (for now).  There are also promo photos in this article, but nothing involving Alex.

So, as expected, Phil and Alex do have a story together in this episode, but all the press release says is that Phil visits Alex in college - nothing about why or what might happen.

Actually, with the rest of the Dunphys out to give the ducklings their long-awaited parole from their house (no real surprise here either - once it was established that this was not the Christmas episode that title shouted "duckling story coming") this episode is shaping up to be one big "empty nest metaphor" story about Phil.  It looks like Alex might be merely a bystander for the most part, with the only questions for now being is she an accomplice to this jailbreak, and will she say something moving about her own "leaving the nest" situation (I think she owes Phil something for only letting him have a five second farewell hug when she first left).

In other news, there are some sneak peek clips released for next week's "Playdates", but the 24-second clip involving the story Alex is in really doesn't shed much new light about anything.
