“It's Close To Midnight...”

(OK, it's actually already past Midnight, but this is Halloween week, hence the “Thriller” lyric – I already have a Halloween-ish lyric from another song picked out for this coming week's episode recap.)

“Won't You Be Our Neighbor” Recap

Sorry, no clever song lyric tonight – I could have gone with a vague reference to the new neighbor's occupation but I just did not want to go there...

When Life Gives You A Randomizer Package...

...make a new MS Paint-enhanced blog picture - life will be all like "Whaaaaaattt"?

OK, so I'm bored, and there's not much to talk about concerning Alex right now (even Ariel's gone off the grid for a while, or so she said in her last tweet 2 days ago).  I figured, why not spice up the Nerd Herd from ToeJam And Earl and make them out to be heroes instead of villains for a change?   We all know they'd be among the ones that Haley's fans would be working for today...

Unless I think of something else, I'll be back tomorrow morning with what is likely to be yet another short recap (of tonight's episode).   And that's if the heavy rain we're supposed to get up here in New England doesn't cause rain fade around 9:00...

(11/1/2014) Update: Since I've since changed the front page picture, here it is:

"Seasons Change"

Or, more accurately, are added: USA Network finally starts airing Season 5 episodes tonight.  From 8-10 they are showing the first four episodes from last year.

Of these, "First Days" (the second episode) is the most important, as it gives us a foreshadowing of what later causes Alex's meltdown in "Under Pressure".

More random thoughts to come probably tomorrow morning.

“You Treat Me Like I'm Invisible” (“The Cold” Recap)

Given that I've got my own cold to deal with, maybe it's just as well there's not much to talk about this week – after being in the spotlight the first two weeks Alex pretty much was reduced to the role of scenery (for a while, I thought we were only going to see her for that 2 second flashback at Yosemite). At least it appears she was smart enough not to get sick like just about everyone else (Luke and Lily apparently also dodged the bullet, but they at least had something to do).

Oh, wait – I forgot she did get the plague from her own trip.

Alex's Line Of The Week: Actually, I don't have one this week – what little she did get to say (about the Haley and Andy “reunion”) didn't stand out.

"Killing Time, Just Watching The Grass Grow" (First Impressions - "The Cold" - Season 6 Episode 3)

Well, back to reality - after 2 episodes with Alex as the Dunphy focus, it shifts to Phil and probably Haley (Andy's first appearance of the season is this week).

Unless Alex freaks out about missing school time, or it turns out that her humanitarian trip ends up being the cause of the family illness (instead of something Phil did at the wedding), I don't expect much this time.

Yup, that's about it for today.

“East End Boys And West End Girls” (“Do Not Push” Recap)

I hope this doesn't become a trend, but for the second week in a row what started out as a strong storyline for Alex kind of fizzled out in the last segment, although I suppose from the moment she made it quite clear to Claire that she wanted to leave after graduation we knew it would end with her backing off at liitle bit. At least by Alex not totally caving (Jason did mention maybe seeing her back in Boston) they've left some tension as to where she ends up, although the odds she stays close to home appear to have increased.
