“It's Too Late To Turn Back Now(?)”

For Haley, by the end of tonight's "Can't Elope", maybe.  But could it be for Alex too?

Based off this preview, Alex may have a little bit more of a role in Haley and Dylan's wedding tonight.   Or, more accurately, may have had – apparently Haley wanted her to be a witness if they could have gotten away with eloping, but Claire finds out and makes them go through with a formal ceremony.  Which, based off the clip on that page and the promo commercial may yet end up with them not married.

Anticipation Level: Medium.  None of which really adds up for a lot for Alex.  I suppose it will be interesting to see why Haley chooses Alex to be a witness (is it out of sisterly love or mere convenience?), but in and of itself it still doesn't give Alex much to do tonight.

On the other hand, there is still the wild card of Bill being at the ceremony – could Alex do what Haley is going to do and reverse the proposal process¹?  And maybe they do elope?

Or, could tonight be the beginning of the end of their relationship?  Maybe one of them (more likely Bill²) starts wondering if they were to get married would their ceremony be as big a cluster as this one appears to going to be and decides the endgame's not worth it?

Most likely, though, neither is going to happen. At least the possibility is there.

Emotional Moment Potential: Medium To High.  As a whole tonight will probably be emotional, one way or the other.  As for Alex, about 90% of the potential depends on whether or not something happens between her and Bill.

Game Changing Potential: Medium.  Change the percentage to 100 in the above second sentence, otherwise, ditto.

Are There Any Other Questions? I think there's enough already to go around for now. After tonight, probably there will be more than a few.

¹ Remember Dylan proposed to Haley earlier this season, but Haley said no.  Now, tonight, it's Haley doing the proposing.   And Bill did sort of propose to Alex a few weeks ago, but Alex wasn't ready for it right away, but she did leave the door open for later.

² But if it's Alex, the fact she's already seen one family wedding ceremony (Mitch and Cam's from five years ago) take almost one too many twist and turn could cause her close the marriage door, possibly for a long time, and not just with Bill.
