“Do You Like Shakespeare?”

Tonight's “Good Grief” might end up being one of the most talked about episodes of the season, what with some big news (possibly the death of someone that affects the whole family) being revealed.

And Alex's boyfriend Bill is there.  Will it live up to the expectations, or will it be “Much Ado About Nothing”?

Anticipation Level: Very High.  Part of this is dread, of course, since this news does appear to be serious, no matter what it is.  I'm not 100% sure it is going to be the death (even though the promo teases that it's going to happen), simply because it still seem strange to put a death inside a Halloween episode, which is usually light-hearted on this show.

And why not save it for November sweeps (particularly with the World Series going on now - tonight there's not likely to be the ratings bump for which they are looking)?

As for Bill, he is definitely a wild card – but just how big of one?  Will there be a serious Alex and Bill story, or will they both be left in the background (like what happened when Alex's freshman year roommate Maisie made her long-awaited but ultimately minimal return in “The Storm”)?

Emotional Moment Potential: Extremely High.  Again, the chance is certainly there, especially if the news is the death.  Even if it's DeDe (still the most likely candidate, in spite of what Ariel said in this article -  she said it wasn't going to be the older family member we expected it be), someone Alex hasn't had much interaction with over the years (she had much more of a bond with her other grandmother) there's bound to be some tears.  At the very least, maybe it's Alex's turn to console someone else if she herself doesn't need as much.

Game Changing Potential: High.  Two weeks ago, I thought there might be a chance for a huge, life-altering story between Alex and Bill.  I'm guessing it's not going to happen, though (because, Alex?) but I'll leave this at “high” because the chance is still there.

We might have to wait two weeks for any real big changes for Alex.

Are There Any Other Questions?  Is Alex going to wear a costume this year?  Apparently so, as this tweet shows her as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

Too bad Phil isn't going to be Batman – I think they'd make a great team...

I don't know what it will be, but I'm pretty sure I'll have a lot to say (for a change) tonight.
