"To A Deluxe Apartment In The Sky" (First Impressions - "The Prescott" - Season 11, Episode 10)

I've mentioned before that the first episodes of Modern Family that start the new calendar year have more often than not been duds.  There is a chance that could change in 2020.

The second half of the final season will at least tangentially involve Alex and a perk of her new career - this is how the synopsis begins:
"Alex’s new company is putting her up at a new luxury apartment with full amenities and a list of high-profile residents..." That sounds very promising.  However, there is a fly in the ointment, in the second half of the synopsis' opening sentence: "...that the family is eager to take advantage of, without her knowing."The rest of the synopsis reveals three separate stories involving such family antics.  Which leaves the question:  Just how big of a piece of the pie will be left for Alex?  Will she have a meaningful role in this episode. or will this end up like the first two of the three times we saw her at her coffee shop job, where she was mostly reduced to being a piece of scenery? Also, how is Alex going to react if and when she realizes what her family is doing?  If it's anything like her reaction to how they took advantage of her while she had mono... On the bright side (it is Christmas, after all, so I need to spread at least a little cheer, or at least do a reasonable job of faking it), Elaine Ko is both the writer and director of this episode - she's the one person I want to see doing most of the work on a episode where big things could be afoot for Alex.(Also, as of now, I have that Wednesday off, so I can watch this one "live".)
